WELCOME TO MY "OTHER" BLOG!

If you are coming from Building Heavenly Bridges (BHB), WELCOME and if you are finding me for the first time and looking for support after a loss, then please check me out at my grief/loss blog!

This blog is a series of anecdotes from our life after losing our first child, a stillborn daughter, then going on to birth the two other lights of our lives!

Bear is 6: serious, organized, my cruise director and my time keeper.

The Comedian is 4: She is pure comedy always doing something unintentionaly funny that I attempt to put into words.

Enjoy our stories, conversations, and delights as we embrace the lives of our second and third daughters without ever negating our first.

Show and Tell - A Day At The Museum

For show and tell this week, I bring a family day trip to the Monshire Museum of Science. It's a totally awesome place for little kids on a cold November day after 5 days off from school and another to go!

I even managed to convice DH to put off cutting-up the two deer he agreed to do, for OTHER people, and come with us!

It was great fun, until about five minutes in when the worst possible thing happened! THE BATTERIES IN MY CAMERA DIED! Ok, melodramatic I know...but seriously, this is ME we are talking about. Lucky for you, I seem to average a picture/minute ratio so you are still gifted with five pics!

It was a blessing in disguise, because I was able to participate fully with BOTH hands! What a day.

Bear solved crazy mind-blowing puzzles in record time.

DH made the BIGGEST bubble I have ever seen with a hula-hoop.

The Comedian stared at fish for a record-setting time, I'm sure.

And I, had my fill of Perfect Moment Mondays on this Perfect Saturday.

Oh- and Yes - we were cutting and wrapping deer until 7pm, not so perfect, but hey - what can you do?

The Museum

It was a "daddy" day from the start!

Bear, perched high up in the playhouse.

The Comedian...staring at fish.

And, a moose, with a sign that read..."Please Don't Touch Me, I'll Lose My Hair."

And the Award Goes To....Me - then YOU!

Thoughtful Thursday (A day early)

Tomorrow - DH, Bear, The Comedian and I will be celebrating Thanksgiving. I am so glad there is a day that brings us all together to be grateful AND to say those gratitudes out loud.

Last Week On THOUGHTFUL THURSDAYS: The Comedian's idle stream-of-concsiousness thoughts on... just about anything!... The Comedian shared profound thoughts about hunting season.

This week, she has been a bit cranky (molars? growth spurt? having internal conflict about turning four?) I cannot say for sure, but instead of documenting her disgust with all things "too loud for her ears", we have a guest speaker.

Please welcome Bear as she shares her view on... An Early Winter.

We are getting ready for school on a particully bitter morning. (Try to imagine January in November - Brrr!)

Bear: (grumpily) - "Nooooo. I don't want to wear a hat. I dooon't want to wear mittens. It's too cold out."

Me: "Yes. I totally agree with you. It is very cold out. But that is exactly why you need to wear your hat and your mittens."

Bear: (riding in the car, still stewing about the weather) "I don't want it to be Winter. I want it to be Spring again!"

Me: "Yeah! Me too. Wouldn't that be great!"

Bear: (suddenly inspired and in great spirits with a lift in her voice) "I know. I'm going to call God. I'm going to tell him to change Winter back into Spring!"

(Silence. Apparently - it was final. She had a plan and was satisfied.)

Me: (unable to resist because I know how literal she is and will in NO way get my sarcasm) "Great. Super. Just let me know how that works out, allright?"

Bear: (exiting the car at school) "Ok. Yup! I'll tell you what he says."

Show and Tell - Domestic Uncluttering

QUICK UPDATE: I POSTED THIS SATURDAY. TOMORROW IS WEDNESDAY AND THE HOUSE STILL LOOKS LIKE THIS. A MIRACLE? YUP! I THINK WE HAVE COMMITTED TO BANNISH THE CLUTTER! (PLUS EVERY KID TOY WENT UPSTARS...THAT HELPS)

TOLD DH THAT YOU ARE ALL EXPECTING HIM. HE'S CHECKING HIS SCHEDULE!

Yesterday dawned an exciting day. I had a meeting at a cafe with a well-published author. She is the client of a friend, and we were connected! I got up, showered, did my hair, picked a nice looking outfit, and even put on make-up - on a SATURDAY! (note- this process took much longer than usual due to the phantom toe-nail of 2008)

DH said, "You're probably going to be a while, huh?"
I said, "I hope so. That would mean she likes what I have to say!"
And, so I hobbled out the door with a smile and a wave.

When I left...our house looked something like an area that has been declared a disaster area after a large tornado went through. Well, something like this: (Ok- the whole house wasn't this bad...)
When I returned it seemed FEMA had come and gone in an extroidanarily quick time. It looked like this:

He even managed to get to that back hallway you just throw stuff in!

Me: "Wow! It looks great in here! You really got inspired."
DH: "No. I just got sick of the clutter. I hoe'd-out."

Another clear indication that I live in hicksville! "Hoe'd-out" is a commonly used term. And, in this case it means that our old, ratty, stained, blue chairs now live on our porch.
Regardless, I loved that he said it and that he did it!
Now, here's more show and tell!
