It is a celebration of all things creative: visual art, voice, and instruments. In fact, for a small school (110 kids K-12) they go all out! So many people come to support their kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, in fact, that there is barely room for people to stand!
This was Bear's first year. Each child had their own 'exhibit'.

Walking the halls is great! And then, they sing... It is cute, but looooong. Comedian decided to make herself comfortable...
Why yes - of course - by lying belly down in the middle of the isle, program in hand and without concern for any people that might actually want to walk there - or take pictures. Ha! I love that girl. She really knows how to live life!
The musical theme was 'America' with Memorial Day so close. They really did a nice job! I'd share a short video snippet with you but blogger hates me. Soon, real - soon, we will work out our differences, amicably - of course.
Happy Memorial Day to all...our kids know their freedom didn't come free. What are you showing and telling?

I really love the artwork! And, Comedian looks so comfy.
The violin is so awesome! I really like the butterflies and honeybees also - wonderfully colorful and happy!
I have my kids' artwork up all over the house - I call it my "Louvre". Even after we redid our kitchen walls, I had to put up all the kids art again. Dh didn't shed any tears, but I have to admit, I was a little sad to paint over some of the "grafitti" we had on our interior walls!
Drawings done by kids always make me happy!
The Bear is very talented, like her mama.
One thing I love about kids (like the Comedian) is their sense of entitlement about space and time.

For all of the benefits of a small school, I can also see the kids as they get older getting very tired of seeing the same few kids every year. Hopefully everyone gets along for many years to come!
Wow, I love Bear's artwork. And Lori did say it quite eloquently, as Wiseguy pointed out...oh, to have a child's sense of ownership of their own body and space again.
How awesome! We have an art show type of thing at our school, but it isn't as individualized as yours. I'm so jealous! That's it, I'm moving in with you! ;o) Great job, Bear! Your art work is BEAUTIFUL!
