WELCOME TO MY "OTHER" BLOG!

If you are coming from Building Heavenly Bridges (BHB), WELCOME and if you are finding me for the first time and looking for support after a loss, then please check me out at my grief/loss blog!

This blog is a series of anecdotes from our life after losing our first child, a stillborn daughter, then going on to birth the two other lights of our lives!

Bear is 6: serious, organized, my cruise director and my time keeper.

The Comedian is 4: She is pure comedy always doing something unintentionaly funny that I attempt to put into words.

Enjoy our stories, conversations, and delights as we embrace the lives of our second and third daughters without ever negating our first.

The Gap Before The Gap

Comedian (as you know) has finished pre-school for the year.

Bear has four more weeks.

So, the BIG question around the house has been, "When does summer really start mama?"

Because, dates on the calendar and abstract concepts have yet to resonate with my littles, I have reverted to such measurable responses as...

When the nets are up at the tennis courts.

When the lake opens for swimming.

And... The day when you let me sleep past 6am!

The last is more of a 'when pigs fly' kind of joke (prayer)...cause well, you now that Comedian, she likes to start her stream-of-consiousness joke telling when the rooster crows!!

So, what are we doing with gabs of mommy and me time??

"picking flowers for Emma"

"Drying socks the RIGHT way"

"making bread (at 6:30am... because) we didn't have none toast"

And, of course, stopping to smell the flowers.

She also....plays playdough, alot, takes long leisurley baths, dances to the 'rock star' (also known as Taylor Hicks) and is an all together cheery being!

There is alot of 'uh-huh' and 'uh-hum'ing going on too, as I respond to her various statements of fact using 'but' as a universal conjunction as she shifts topics on a dime...

"But when I with Grandma and Grampa I saw Mrs. C but she has a mom but her mom doesn't talk but sometimes moms don't talk, but you talk, and I talk, but sometimes my sister screams, but that is too loud for my ears but sometimes I scream quietly but if you hit someone you have to go on the naughty step but that's why I don't hit but I did hit one time and I cried and cried. Do you remember?"

And on, and on, and on it goes. And it melts my heart to hear her talk, the lilt of her voice, the pure optimisim that the world is her oyster even it if doesn't make sense.

Ahh - my comedian. I love her for all she is and I'm LOVING this time, just with her - even if not too much else is getting done.

Heck, I'm learning how to dry socks, "the right way"!

Gabe doesn't use but to bridge the gap between topics. He uses because. He will be chattering on about volcanoes and then he will say "Because you are my mommy" and gives me a hug.
